PM Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is to seek the consent of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, this week on the candidates to fill three posts of Deputy Minister.
"The proposed names will be presented to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong this week for His Majesty's consent," he said.
However, Abdullah did not reveal the names of the candidates.
The three posts of Deputy Minister are for the Transport, Foreign, and Natural Resources and Environment portfolios.
Kimanis Member of Parliament (MP) Datuk Anifah Aman and Jerantut MP Datuk Seri Tengku Azlan Sultan Abu Bakar did not take up the posts of Deputy Transport Minister and Deputy Foreign Minister, respectively, on March 18 when Abdullah announced his Cabinet line-up.
Kalabakan MP Datuk Ghapur Salleh resigned as Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment on March 27, nine days after taking up the appointment.- Bernama
